The Power and Control Wheel
Domestic abuse is understood within a context of power and control. The power and control wheels were created in 1984 in the US to help explain and have a visual representation to understand domestic abuse, including coercive control. The wheels were borne out of survivors’ stories and highlighted the tactics and behaviours institutions and perpetrators use to victim blame and sustain abuse to victims. Please see more on the website provided, as the wheels can also be printed off if required.
The Survivor Handbook
The Survivor handbook was created by Women’s Aid and contains essential information for women experiencing domestic abuse. The information is available via:

Coercive Control
Here’s a short presentation we made to help people understand coercive control and how they can spot toxic behaviours in their own relationship.
We hope that the more people understand about coercive control the more empowered they’ll be to challenge this kind of behaviour in every day life.
